would go to build
the flower betimes
gets driven down
into the leaves instead
too soon they seize
the scent and sorrow
of some embodiment
unable or unwilling
to come all the way
into the flesh
but naked on the breeze
can still be used to
flavor and protect
a certain differentiation
of desire tracked
down to this place to find
how all we’ve forgotten
here lies still
