of our bodies a separate
private life goes on in there
we cannot completely control
but must live in service to
as in a marriage or parentage
does the body in this life
mirror the soul in the last
which could only build it
from the materials at hand
struggling every night and day
to decipher the faded blueprints
and broken scribbled tablets
our old selves leave behind
