Ecuadorian Valentine

At last the rain
takes out his Stradivarius
and starts beating it on the roof
it's an awkward moment
for the trees who were of course
just standing there like me
so the rain starts riffing this
tune about long years
in the mines of Ecuador
do you have any idea
how much a drop costs today
how the delivery system works
but the roof is implacable
and the crying won't stop
and the trees start to pout
