Sun’s Valentine

We are the revolutionaries
Of the sun who sat
At the feet of the moon
To learn our sums and angles
Now we follow a stern
But silent teacher
Whose look would
Beckon us to valor
If we’ve not grown cold
With pleasure and with pain
With security when there is none
Again and again he returns
Like Hamlet’s ghost
Not to reveal a murder
But announce a birth
