Fall’s Valentine

I only had two lights
So I placed them
On either side of me
So they made a gate
A kind of line one crossed
Into another part of the yard
From the dark hallway
Into the brilliant garden
Where in the heads of sages
There are now girls laughing
And in the cabbage stumps
Run in rows like graves
What sounds like purple
In the two lights shining
Gathering the ground
