One Color Valentine

Under my dying orange tree
I planted myrtle
With its purple-blue flowers

Saturn’s color
As a gardener
Year after year

If you could have
Just one color
Light and shadow

Falling through
Disrobing branches
Let it be myrtle

Once the crown of kings
It sends out runners
That soon cover the ground
