Minor Valentine

I try to make minor
Changes to the earth
Move a few leaves from
The walkway to
Underneath a tree
Once in a pile of dirt
I transplanted the small
Body of an orange tree
From here to its permanent
Resting place it made me
See the earth as a cemetery
Whose only green
And burgeoning growth
Is the grass and us
And the dying flowers
We bring and place
