Rainbow’s Valentine

As water releases us
So rain turns us into children
Offspring of the air and warmth
So we cuddle at home in bed
Or anyway go for a walk
Not ostensibly looking
For a rainbow but finding
One anyway before the sun
Returns to eat our souls
And to set our feet
Back on the slippery slope
Of our terrestrial lives
Leaving the ethereal to hope
And the adults to cope
