For no one’s pleasure
but my angel’s
do I sit here
breaking lines
it’s the poem’s way
of attention-seeking
of showing off when
you’re trying to talk
to someone else
for a change
so it’s a shock when you
look away how quickly
almost passive-aggressively
the physical world
snaps back into place
when the poem dies.
