Those contemptuous of time
about which we know
nothing at the time
any teaching that disdains
or makes us feel
ashamed of our lives
today in ordinary time
to shed light like
leaves the night trees
to roll over against
time another body never
more held than known
held to be forever
unknowable and held alone.
