real thing on earth
time is how the truth
is slowed down
is watered down enough
for us to taste it a little
at a time and learn to
tolerate its crushing
yet dissolving weight
like moths staring at the sun
but that’s because
we like to attribute
to ourselves capacities
manifesting through us
not yet our own
