the shadow of a bird keeps
moving about on the gray wall
and then at three-thirty
the sky sighs quietly
as if in the final stages
of the defeat of acceptance
and many more birds come
casting their quick shadows
from inside the sun-lit tree
onto the blank wall of heaven
so now I can’t make out a thing
I wouldn’t change about my life
so much space for improvement
and then a garden
