I ask this in the name
of a certain February
morning and a doorway
where we sat embracing
because we were young
and had been drinking
you wanted someone to seduce
as you had been seduced I guessed
or maybe we just liked one another
and didn’t know what else to do with it
you were the embodiment of feelings
and saw how the world was wrong
and smiling stepped aside to let it pass
