Not to be blasé about it
But let’s bike down to the lake
The cool water will dissolve us
And after a quiet swim
We can sit in the shade
And watch the children work
At building ramparts again
Against the waves
We can see how it all happened
How this clear lake showed up
Just at the right time to save us
We can look at one another
And stop worrying about the world
Just feel its wonder
