Roses Valentine

A bed of roses is the cross
And why we carry
Flowers to the graves

That on them the dead might rest
And flower into a new life in us
What we call memory or courage

That the dead are made welcome
To continue to live with us or else
We make them homeless

Imagine if you were a flower
No one saw
On the dead girl’s throat

Her personal flower
Which surely she
Grows into
