So thin a slice of life
But just enough to slip
Between sunlight and matter
Which takes two wings apparently
To float along between two worlds
Equally at home in either
I could see one up close
Enough to question the source
Of the five gold dots
In the corners of both wings
The insignia of the one he serves
Resting on a leaf for light
But what god uses this for a body
And what could he impossibly
Have in mind with us
