Between her floppy hat and mask
Her hearing aids and glasses
When she takes one off
It all collapses they laugh
At her when she answers
A question that wasn't asked
The dim one in her family
Who aspires to poetry to read
To children and the dying
And the dead who are
Not really dead but earnestly
Present for her they laugh
Together taking off their masks
