Today I read 95 years ago
In the dead of night
British bombs placed in mines
Dug right below those sleepers
Killed over 10,000 Germans
They could hear it in Cambridge
And today listening I can still
Hear it whispering out there
Someone said just before
The explosion in the silence
He heard a nightingale
Singing clearly as if
It was the end of the war
