Only at this late date am I
Learning about the annual
Shower of stars that falls
Twelve days before Christmas
Seven days before the solstice
Only at this late date
Do I get to wonder about
What adjustments this creates
In the way we breath and move
Subtle shifts in our moods
From something stirring inside
As we come to the darkest day
When the sun stops itself to let
A greater light pass by
