Conjured Valentine

Like someone rushing past the windows
The rain ran on as brief as that
But just enough to shine the air
And deepen all the colors
Green greener and red sharper
A rain dissolving to a mist
Itself a kind of spirit flower
Unfolding into nothingness
No rainbow but a rainbow's
Evanescent power to stir
The world into a glowing blur
Of fiery water earthy air
As if to conjure another world
Too beautiful to bear
