the melodrama of matter
and of mattering
knowing for sure
you will be killed
since nobody dies
willingly or to have
seen the littleness
of our nature in its most
grandiose schemes
and to maintain
a mountain range
of equilibrium and poise
a warm breeze when
cooler hearts freeze
