and why the oceans
had to be included
as one of the mystery’s clues
overlooked by the solution
the only possible one
that the novel (of summer)
is done and I may not
read it again I may have
skipped over a certain
few chapters is all we get
now that the poem (of fall)
has unregrettably arrived
and one prepares
as best one can
to leave the earth again
