Plato was 27 and Aristotle just 15
When he drank the poison
But they carried on beautifully
Filling in his first outlines
Of the thinking soul and
One by one translating
The mysteries into common sense
But Socrates was the last
Of a long wild line of satyrs
And the first of a long
Wild line of thinkers
He brought over the life of thought
To Plato’s love and
Aristotle’s conscious light
out of his wild doubt
