A couple standing in the wings
A baritone and an alto interrupt
The action on the stage
With a brief and wonderful duet
The players seem genuinely surprised
As if this wasn't anything arranged
And yet so stunned by its beauty
They easily forget their lines
And have to be prompted to their parts
And resume as if nothing had happened
The realism of their dramatic situations
Carried onward by that song
