Out of the measureless light
That flows down on us endlessly
Out of the measureless darkness
That takes us into its sleep
After the gods have decayed
Into the words for months and days
And we have survived our many lives
We come to this particular Thursday
After which nothing is the same
What is it about Thursday
That it could become
The first human being
A feeling for the world
That takes the place of the gods
