Isn't it true in freezing fall
The human brain can burst
Into flame when the blood rubs
Two crazy thoughts together
And smoke and light bloom
Along the neural branches
Against the cold of reason
Which left to its own device
Draws us further onto the ice
But luckily the heart's a cave
Where the thoughts can return
From distant stars and planets
To warm their hands and feet
With memories yet to burn
