Lots of what I thought was best
Turned out to be the worst
My double doubled back on me
Some blessings were a curse
Some loves got worse and worse
Until all love was lost
Which was no love at all
But turned out for the best
Our lives were crossed with crosses
And a sprinkling of stars
I found I loved
The ingenuity of love itself
