Stop beating others up
In your head I mean
Stop living with those dead
Thoughts between your ears
Unless it’s about arranging
An appropriate resurrection
We only need to be afraid
Of death if we forget the gods
Of summer and the goddesses
Of this fall’s passions and victories
Maybe we should mourn our birthdays
And only celebrate when someone dies
If we loved them because we know
We will continue to know and love
Them in their new life and forever
