Among the rituals I love
Besides the rain and apples
There is your face
The sacrament of flesh
A rained-on apple
I tore off the tree
And gave you the knife
To cut me into pieces
And offer me a slice
Sweet rain and sweeter apple
It was love forgive me at first bite
They called it a fall
And they were right
As one by one we lost our children
