Returning Valentine

Every day on the rays
Of the sunlight reflecting
On the earth we send out
Our wishes and intentions
Seeing the little things we do
To solve our problems
Are weak and ineffective
We let them go like balloons
Out into the reaches
Of a higher understanding
And then we wait so long
Sometimes we forget the question
Until a full moon rises in us
Illuminating the way back to the sun
