He lifts three fingers
Me I'm just two
How could you be
Older than me
We laugh uncontrollably
And then he's swept away
In his mother's shopping-cart
And I go on looking for onions
Cream and artichoke hearts
With an old recipe in mind
With the crazy impulse to invite
Everyone in this grocery store
To my house for dinner tonight
