When the moon left the earth
And was caught in its orbit
It was like a lighthouse raised
A point of entry and departure
A little boat of glowing light
Carrying the dark sun
Growing brighter and brighter
As more passengers came onboard
Until it was full to overflowing
A deep brilliance free of the earth
With a pure longing to sail on
But when the moon returned to the earth
Its light got caught in the churning waves
Sinking all its cargo of death and birth
