It wasn't the war
Terrible as it was
But that despite
The enormity of it
No one cared
To face the causes
No one would own
How it began
Buried in the rubble
Each blow an excuse
For another attack
But one man just
Stood there silent
Letting death rain
Down upon him
What no one deserved
He accepted as fate
And knew love would win
