When Christ became the ruler of the sun
It was already a step down for him
But he took the ineffable with him
Preserving the legacy of his father
And found a face among his people
On which to place that gaze
His father wore waving from the door
Those confidence-bestowing eyes
Leaving all caution behind
To build a new beginning
He would call his Earth Beloved
And find a shack among the poor
Where he and his father could live
In their old age and more
